New technology is the key to cool smartphones, and this year, three phones in particular are taking mobile technology to new heights. Let's check out these world-changers.

Toshiba TG01 - Windows Mobile unleashed

Our list begins with a phone that really gives Windows Mobile the grunt it needs to run smoothly: the Toshiba TG01. In terms of outstanding new technologies, what the Toshiba TG01 brings to the party isn't the 4.1 inch display (although that's noteworthy in itself), but its processor. The Toshiba TG01 uses a next-generation, dual-core Snapdragon chip, which runs at 1GHz, and that makes the Toshiba TG01 the most powerful phone on the planet. That's good, because when it comes to other features, a lot of other phones leave the Toshiba TG01 behind...

Sony Ericsson Idou - taking the camera phone to new heights

Phones like the Sony Ericsson Idou...

It's been included on this list for two factors. The first has to be the huge 12 MP camera the Sony Ericsson Idou comes equipped with, possibly making it the best camera phone yet to be created. The second reason is because the Sony Ericsson Idou is the first phone to use the next incarnation of Symbian Touch, the version which will go on and become the Symbian Foundation OS. Imagine the power of Symbian with the fluidity of and interface like OS-X or the LG S-Class UI, and it'll give you an idea of why the Sony Ericsson Idou is one of the current hottest properties out there.

Palm Pre - a brave new interface

While we're talking interfaces, though, the Sony Ericsson Idou is outdone by a phone that's due to be released in the second half of the year: the outstanding Palm Pre. What it brings to the party is the most intuitive interface ever found on a mobile phone. The Palm Pre features slick animations and gesture controls throughout, so that everything you want to do is just a touch or a swipe away. There's little doubt, the Toshiba TG01 has the power, and Idou's got the camera, but the Palm Pre just can't be beaten in terms of interface.

Are there any new Verizon touch screen phones coming out in Spring 2009?
Only touch screen and only Verizon! My contract is up in May and I'm hoping to get a new one. If you could tell me where to find info that would be good too!

As you probably know your mobile operator will charge you a lot when you are making calls from abroad, and even when receiving them.

So, how avoid getting unpleasant surprises and limiting any costs?

Here is how: You can only save limited money when signing up for roaming packages (such as Vodafone Passport) from your current operator. There are always monthly fees and limitations in one way or another.

What you should do is to simply change your SIM-card. This effectively means you are using another mobile phone subscription while abroad.

A STEP BY STEP DESCRIPTION OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO

- Before going away to another country

Sign up for an Operator One account.

Register the contacts you usually call.

Add credit to your account, using your credit or debit card. Minimum credit to be added is 2.

- When you have arrived to the other country

Purchase a local SIM-card of any kind. Make sure it has a good local rate during the hours of the day when you wish to make your calls. Also make sure that it actually works to call out from your phone with this SIM-card. If it doesnt work ask the sales person for help.

Add your new SIM-cards local phone number to the Operator One Connect service by signing in to My Pages on www.operatorone.eu. From a mobile device go to http://m.operatorone.eu.

There you will be provided with a list of local phone numbers to all your contacts. Save these numbers on your SIM-card if you like.

Now, make direct phone calls, using local phone numbers to your international contacts.

- The next time you arrive in the same country

Insert the local SIM-card you bought last time.

Dial the local Operator One service number, available on http://m.operatorone.eu/. At the prompt dial 1.

Thats it. This means cheap, local calls wherever you are. (The Operator One Connect service is available in 29 countries.)

- When you visit yet another country

Purchase a local SIM-card and make sure it works to make calls from your phone with it.

Add the SIM-cards phone number to your Operator One Connect account, by signing in on www.operatorone.eu or http://m.operatorone.eu.

Get a list of new local phone numbers to your contacts.

Start calling, using these local numbers.

- How can I receive incoming calls?

When you call any of your contacts in your Operator One contact list, their caller ID will display a phone number that is local to them. This phone number can be used to call back to you directly. If your contact is not a subscriber to the Operator One Connect service you will pay for the incoming call, but at a lower rate than if you were roaming.

You can also purchase a local number in your favorite city of the world that you can give to anybody, without them being registered in your contact list. Operator One will soon launch this new service. Please check back on www.operatorone.eu in February 2009.

- What are the benefits with this way of calling vs other solutions?

You limit your costs when you are abroad.

When you make international calls with other dialup solutions, you will first need to make a local call. This means you will be charged regardless if the call is successful or not. With Operator One you will only pay for the call if the other end picks up the phone.

You are not dependent on finding a SIM-card that has competitive international rates. You just ask for the best local rates, which normally the SIM-sales representative will know very well and can guide you to the best offer in that given situation.

- What are the drawbacks?

You have to register your new phone number to the service.

Solution: Either make sure that you have access to an internet connected computer or use your internet browser in your mobile device. Optionally you can purchase a local SIM-card before you leave for the trip. We recommend the following services: www.rebelfone.com, www.telestial.com.

You can not receive SMS and MMS.

Solution: It is therefore recommend that you also have your regular subscription running and your phone on (roaming). Or, for maximized saving, ignore these messages and never turn on your subscription when roaming. Note that if you have a voicemail and turn on your home subscription once or more when roaming and then turn it off, you will be charged roaming charges on incoming calls, forwarded to your voicemail.

You need to make sure your mobile operator has not locked your handset to their network.

Solution: If you dont know if your phone is locked you could contact your network operator or the place where you bought the phone, and theyll tell you. It is possible to unlock a phone, but you should first check with your operator to see if its okay to do so.

Most internet-dependent mobile phone applications (e.g. e-mail, GPRS-positioning) need to be updated with a different setting when you change SIM-cards. Most modern phones handle this neatly, but it is tricky if you do not know how this works in detail.

Solution: Dont use these applications while away. Or do the changes needed and change them back when you are home again.

Please visit http://www.operatorone.eu to know more about Operator One and other services for making smart international phone calls.

iPhone 3G S vs. iphone 3G: the new iPhone looks promising

source: http://bestvideoconvertersoftware.blogspot.com/2009/06/iphone-3g-s-vs-iphone-3g-new-iphone.html
The competition in the mobile phone world will never stop. On June 6th Palm have published its new competitive phone Palm Pre. Then on June 8, Apple has unveiled new iPhone at WWDC - the iPhone 3G S. It announced that new iPhone 3G S will sell on June 19th. The price of iPhone 3G 3.0 has slow down to 99 dollars and the rumor said that new iPhone will sell at 199 dollars of 16GB and 299 dollars of 32GB. Besides the price strategy, the new iPhone will largely improve its function as well as bring many new features to compete with Palm Pre. Then lets have a close look at the new iPhone 3G S: How does the new iPhone improved compare with the original iPhone 3G 3.0?

Appearance: unchanged
From the picture we can found that there is not much change on iPhones appearance.

Battery life: longer
The new iPhone battery life last longer than the original iPhone 3G: for talk time, iPhone 3G can last up to 10 hours on 2G and iPhone 3G S is 2 hours longer; On Internet use, iPhone 3G can last up to 6 hours on Wi-Fi, and iPhone 3G S can last 9 hours on Wi-Fi; For audio playback iPhone 3G S can last up to 30 hours while iPhone 3.0 24 hours, and for video playback, iPhone 3G S can last up to 10 hours, 3 hours longer than iPhone 3G.

Storage capacity: bigger
The rumors said the capacity of new iPhone would be bumped to 16GB and 32GB. Much bigger than the 8GB of iPhone 3G,

The Speed: Faster
Apple is promising faster performance the "S" in 3G S signifies "speed." Apple claims it'll render Web pages and launch applications twice as fast on average as the iPhone 3G. So the new iPhone would be faster to use.

New features of the new iPhone:
iPhone 3G S Camera
With 3 Megapixel, auto-focus camera the new iPhone will allow you to tap on the part of the photo you want to focus, and it will automatically do so. It will also be adding the ability to automatically handle exposure, white balance and better low-light sensitivity. If you want to get close to a photo subject, say up to 10cm away, the new camera will also have an auto-macro.
iPhone 3G S Compass
With the new iPhone you may always be able to find north, and if you double-tap the screen, it will show you your current orientation, even in the Maps app.
iPhone 3G S Voice Control
Why bother with touching your phone when you can just voice command it? Hold down the home button for a second and you will be prompted to start issuing voice commands which can include making calls, asking your device what song is playing, telling it to find similar songs and so on.

More multimedia functions:
Record video
The new iPhone camera is going to be able to shoot video! The new feature will allow you to record at 30 frames per second (fps) at VGA resolution with audio, auto-focus, auto-white balance and auto-exposure.

Edit video on the go
With the new iPhone you neednt to wait until youre at your computer to start editing your mobile movies. You may trim your footage right on iPhone. Just drag to select start and end points on a filmstrip.

Audio playback
iPhone 3G S supports audio formats: AAC, Protected AAC, MP3, MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3, and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF, and WAV
Video playback
As video files, the iPhone 3G S supported: H.264 video, up to 1.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Low-Complexity version of the H.264 Baseline Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
H.264 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Baseline Profile up to Level 3.0 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats;
MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats.
If you havent H.264 or MPEG-4 videos on your computer, you may use Nidesoft DVD to iPhone Converter to convert DVD files into iPhone 3G S compatible formats or use Nidesoft iPhone video converter to convert all other video files into iPhone 3G S, just follow the step by step guide.

Share video anywhere
With the new iPhone 3G S, you may send your video via MMS, or select video from the Camera Roll and let iPhone add it to a new email message. You may also publish videos to YouTube to share your videos.

So, after the comparison, the new iPhone 3G S seems more promising than the iPhone 3.0 to hit the new Palm Pre. Of course, nobody knows the result before it is published, lets just wait for its official release date of June 19th.

Tarot cards consist of twenty-one trump cards, the fool and one extra face card for every alternative suits in the deck. Miscellaneous spheres in Europe use the deck to play games with organized rules, but in English-speaking countries, tarot cards locate their utility in the field of fortune stating.

The tarot cards embarked along with alternative cards in the 14th century. Analyzers theorize that they were created in Islamic countries, but the initial actual knowledge in the English-speaking world is the Christian area of Bern, Switzerland. The older tarot cards contained only sixteen trump cards as compared to 21 in up-to-date decks.

A typical tarot deck contains 78 cards consisting of the four suits seen in regular card games, which are hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs. The Latin version of the tarot deck has a dissimilar set of suits. They are swords, batons, cups, and coins. Like a regular deck, tarot cards are numbered from one to ten plus the four court cards; jack, queen, king, and ace.

The difference between a tarot deck and the regular deck is the 21 divinity cards labeled Major Arcana. A joker equivalent in the tarot deck is termed the fool, or the excuse. The fool can take every one of four suits and acts as the sturdiest trump card.

Meaning is assigned to each card in a tarot deck; nonetheless, the specifics of interpretation are impacted by the layout of the cards, whether they are upright or reversed, and the interpreter's own deciphering. Myriads of the cards in the major arcana, the trump cards, are fairly logical. The Lovers act for adulate, in some maximum volume, while Strength is symbolic of courage and drive. Each of the cards in the minor arcana also carries meaning when used for divination, based on both the numeric value of the card and which suit it is. Meanings of each card may be found online, in books, or simply by interpreting the images on the card.

When card readings are conducted face-to-face, the card reader will once in a while ask the querent to shuffle the cards as they concentrate on the question. The querent will from time to time be asked to split the deck into three piles, and then to put the deck back together again. The card reader then lays out the cards in a specific pattern, and each card has a unlike meaning, depending upon the layout used. For example, the card reader might layout three cards, one to signify the good old days, one for the present and one for the future: all three cards together give a jammed interpretation of a given situation.

Substitute tarot card understanding methods include phone and online readings. While there are free Internet settings to read your fortunes, they are only for show or offered as a gimmick. On the other hand, professional tarot card readers offering their services over the phone can cost about 5.00 per translating. Card understanding over the phone promotes a dissimilar approach to commercial tarot card understanding, since the customer can display a hotline to know his fortunes on demand. Card studying allows folk to present their fortunes checked every morning, which is both convenient and lifestyle altering.

Tarot card divination might not be a real science; it might not be as accurate as some citizens would like to believe, but the market for tarot is ever growing through the availability of readings online and in more similar mediums. While this is so, there is still a large demand for face-to-face tarot reading because of the mystique and interactivity. A fair judgment of the industry is that it is growing in its disparate aspects - whether it is face to face, on the phone, or by some more medium. While society drives itself into a more scientific destiny, the appeal of astrology, especially in tarot cards, is still growing fast.

As we come to the end of the Mobile World Congress, this year's 'Best Mobile Phone' has been announced: the little Three INQ1, the Facebook phone itself. Let's take a look at how it won, and look forward to what will take its place next year...

Three INQ1 - the Facebook phone is phone of the year

There's no denying that the Three INQ1 is something special. It has precisely none of the smartphone functionality you get from the big boys, and yet, it managed to beat them all off, to win the title of Phone Of The Year. That's some achievement, but when you look at what the Three INQ1 will do, it's actually not that big a surprise. There's a reason why this little beauty is nicknamed the Facebook phone. Many manufacturers have noticed the popularity of social networking, of sites like Facebook and MySpace, but no phone has had the same level of integration the INQ1 has.

Take, for example, its phonebook. A standard feature across all mobile phones, and something that doesn't inspire admiration, right? Well, in the case of the INQ1, it does, as it's more like a living, evolving entity. It automatically updates your contacts with their newest Facebook pics, and status, so it's constantly changing to keep your social network up to date. Combine that with one-button access to Facebook, and simply the best social networking access seen on a mobile phone, and you're onto a winner. As I said, it's glaringly obvious why it's called the Facebook phone, and that alone is why it was able to hold back the big boys, and claim the award for itself.

A big congratulations, then, to the team behind the Facebook phone; you heartily deserve your award!

2010 - which phone will become phone of the year?

With the Three INQ1 Facebook phone scooping the title this year, it's time to look forward and try to make an educated guess as to what will win in 2010. The first, obvious contender is the Idou, from Sony Ericsson, a phone so new it doesn't even have a proper model number yet. However, even at this early stage, the Idou certainly seems to have the chops to make it the biggest phone of the year. Certainly, the first phone that has both a 12 megapixel camera AND the first build of the new Symbian Foundation operating system just can't be ignored! It's going to face some stiff opposition, though, because right out of leftfield is a phone that includes a sleek operating system unlike anything seen before, and even tighter Facebook and social networking integration than seen on the INQ1. That phone is of course the Palm Pre, and its sheer 'new-ness' could land it the top spot. Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure: it's going to be an exciting year for mobile phones!
